Beneficial Banker (4 openings)

Location: East LA, CA and Portland, OR

The primary duties of a Beneficial Banker vary from greeting customers, processing deposits and payments, and maintaining our customers’ accounts. Beneficial Bankers will also assist in verifying customer identities, posting loan payments, and balancing all daily transactions.


Client & Treasury Manager (1 opening)

Location: Seattle, WA

Client & Treasury Manager is responsible for the development and analysis of new commercial, small business and non-profit organizations, deposit and treasury management business which includes the expansion of existing relationships and servicing customers. This position develops and present sales proposals, acts as a liaison between customers and other service departments or branch locations of the Bank to support sales and service issues. As a BSB representative and leader in the community promoting the Bank’s mission in the community, this role will also monitor market condition/trends to ensure the Bank remains competitive in local market.  


Consumer Loan Processor (1 opening)

Location: Porterville, CA

The Loan Processor is responsible for checking, sorting, and compiling data relevant to loan applications. This position reviews loan applicants' credit reports, income, and collateral and estimate liabilities as well as assets relevant for processing customers' loan applications.


Consumer Loan Servicing Representative (3FT and 4PT openings)                                               

Location: Fresno, CA and Porterville, CA

Consumer Loan Servicing Representatives will provide quality service to the customers of Beneficial State bank (BSB) through, but not limited to, receiving inbound and making outbound telephone inquiries from internal and/or external customers.  Responsibilities includes providing information, follow thru on customer inquiries and requests, make collections calls, and resolving issues promptly. 


CRE Underwriter (1 opening)                        

Location: Santa Rosa, CA, Oakland, CA, or Portland, OR

CRE Underwriter’s primary duties are analyzing financial data, preparing initial credit analysis, analyzing portfolio credit quality, and assisting with any ongoing financial analysis of existing lending relationships. This position will assist the Underwriting Manager in analyzing and spreading financial statements and underwriting a variety of industries (Nonprofit Borrowers, Owner-Occupied CRE, Multifamily Income Properties, Commercial Investor Real Estate, Construction, Consumer and Business Credit Cards, Commercial Loans to Businesses, and Consumer), loan products, and collateral types, though key focus are CRE loans.


Executive Assistant and Project Support (1 opening)

Location: Portland, OR

The Executive Assistant and Project Support is responsible for providing administrative support to highly complex and responsible nature, of Commercial Banking, with high-level of internal and external contacts which requires considerable discretion and initiative. This role coordinates and keeps calendar of schedule meetings, appointments, and visitors while assisting in project leads to ensure project timelines are met, independently answer telephone calls and routes correspondence, and exercises judgment to reflect executive’s style and company policy.


IT Manager (1 opening)

Location: TBD

Information Technology Manager manages and administers the Bank’s network, workstation environment, and telecommunication systems. Responsibilities also include monitoring performance and capacity, installations, configurations, and maintain software and hardware connected to the network server and workstations. This includes ongoing maintenance and support to the growth and development of the Bank’s system and users.


Portfolio Manager, C&I (2 openings)

Location: Portland, OR

Portfolio Manager is responsible for the administrative management of specific assigned lending relationships of commercial and SBA loan portfolio. Act as a resource to the Relationship Manager and be the primary account manager for loans with non-designated Relationship (of purchased loan participations, etc). With administrative management of account(s), includes ensuring compliance and covenant information are up-to-date and competed within credit files, and maintain active communication with borrower to obtain all necessary information.


Recovery & Remarketing Manager (1 opening)                                                         

Location: Porterville, CA

The Recovery and Remarketing Manager is responsible for overseeing the Loan Servicing Insurance (LSI) process of the Collateral Department and coordinating activities related to recovery and disposition of repossessed collateral. Recovery & Remarketing Manager will initiate, maintain, and manage the relationships with Collateral Clerks, auto auctions, insurance companies, and/or any individuals involved to maximize recovery dollars and minimize losses.


Relationship Manager (1 opening)

Location: Portland, OR

Relationship Manager is responsible for the day to day client relationship and sales/business development efforts that result in meeting and/or exceeding individual performance goals and achieving the Bank’s growth objective. This position will act as the primary contact with the client and is held accountable to understand and articulate to clients, prospects and community members in regards to the Bank’s mission.


Risk Management Leader, Business Banking (1 opening)

Location: Santa Rosa, CA, Oakland, CA, or Portland, OR

Risk Management Leader, Business Banking is responsible for the management and development of a team of Loan Underwriters and Portfolio Managers, and oversees critical projects/processes within our Commercial Lending Division. The scope of responsibility will generally focus on Commercial C&I, SBA, Business Banking and/or CRE teams and portfolios, but could include a mix of C&I (including SBA, Business Banking and/or Commercial Banking segments by loan exposure amount and/or borrower size) and investor CRE loans.


SBA Underwriter (1 opening)

Location: Portland, OR

SBA Underwriter’s primary duties are analyzing financial data, preparing initial credit analysis, analyzing portfolio credit quality, and assist with any ongoing financial analysis of exiting lending for a variety of industries, loan products, and collateral types. This position works closely with business development officers and loan processors to approve, process, underwrite, and package SBA loan submissions using bank and government policies.

"Beneficial Banking" Summer Internship Program

Developing the Next Generation of "Beneficial Banking" Leaders & Ambassadors

To build the pipeline for the next generation of leaders, Beneficial State Bank and Foundation are proud to offer an intensive summer internship program which provides valuable work and learning experience to high-caliber students interested in beneficial banking, community economic development and responsible financial services. Through this 9-week program – with tracks for both collegiate and MBA students – interns work on challenging projects and complete deliverables designed to advance key initiatives and programs at Beneficial State.

Under the direction and mentorship of bank staff, each intern will complete a capstone project and present their findings to the executive leadership team at the end of the program. Additionally, to supplement the learning experience, interns gain exposure to community and socially-responsible banking through the "Beneficial Banking" Curriculum & Speaker Series. Led by experts in the fields of community banking, investing, and responsible finance, these workshops provide exposure to the challenges confronted by professionals in the industry and include site visits for interns to see the work in action.

Past interns have both joined the Beneficial State team after graduation and leveraged their rich internship experience into careers in financial services and a variety of socially-responsible sectors.

Each year, we conduct a nationwide search for the best and brightest to join Beneficial State. We look for highly skilled individuals whose passion for economic justice and environmental sustainability match the vision and goals of our organization. While we primarily target students pursuing an MBA or a related graduate degree, we will have a track for exceptional undergraduates who are completing their degrees this year or have graduated within the last year. Individuals from other academic disciplines are also strongly encouraged to submit an application.
